The cashback calculator has been put in place to enable you personally to find out how much you could both earn and save through the installation of solar panels. The calculator also works for wind turbines, hydroelectricity and micro combined heat and power systems using the Feed-in-Tariff schemes.

In April 2010 the Government made available Feed-in Tariffs (FITs). The FIT scheme makes sure that energy suppliers make regular payments to house-holders and communities who generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources such as solar electricity panels (Solar PV) or wind turbines.

The scheme put into place a minimum payment for all electricity generated by your system. A separate payment is also made for any electricity exported back to the grid. This payment is made in addition to the savings that will occur by using the electricity generated by your own system.
